There are no words to express how relieved and excited we are that our 16-month long project, Hologram, is FINALLY out. It’s the first truly interactive, choose-your-own-adventure music movie, and features celebrity cameos from Janeane Garofalo, Martha Wash, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Kevin Allison, Michael Musto, Mike Ruiz and Joshua McKinley! Check it out on a computer (not a mobile device) to be able to fully interact with it, and share it with all your friends!!

I am so excited to announce that we finally have a release date set for Hologram, the music movie I’ve been working on for 16 months with my band, XELLE. We’ll be doing a live world premiere event on Tuesday, March 5th, at 6:30pm at The Norwood, 241 West 14th St, NYC, and making the video available online directly afterwards.

If you want to attend the live world premiere event, you MUST RSVP to Lydia Kanuga at Effective Immediately PR, at Lydia AT ei-pr DOT com. If you don’t RSVP, you won’t be able to get into the event, so please RSVP now and grab your spot! Can’t wait to see you there!

Here’s a taste of what you’re in for…

I’m excited to announce that my band, XELLE, has finally brought out a new music video, and I was lucky enough to direct it! It’s called “Queen,” and it’s gotten about a quarter million hits in its first week out! Watch it:

Putting this video together was a crazy experience, but now that it’s out, I’m so glad we were able to pull it together. I’ll be editing the behind the scenes video about it very soon and can’t wait to share that too!

We also finally released our debut EP, Queens, so go grab it on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, or any of the other online music retailers worldwide, and leave us a review when you do! You can also get an autographed hard copy of the CD at www.XELLEmusic.com/store.

The Hologram music video is still in the works, but we’re finally nearing the end of that crazy journey, and should have it out in early 2013. Thanks for your saintly patience! In the mean time, catch a glimpse of it here:

Oh. My. God. It. Has. Been. For. Ever.

Where to begin? I guess I’ll start at DECEMBER 2011, where I last left off!

So, in the last post, I talked about what a huge project the Hologram video was going to be. Well, big doesn’t even begin to describe it. This project began in October of 2011 and will have taken more than a year to complete by the time it’s done. “More than a year to make one music video? That sounds a little crazy!” Well, that’s because it IS a LOT crazy. But that’s what happens when you make one video that has 25 shoot days, 7 celebrity cameos, countless cast and crew members, endless amounts of props and locations, and on and on. Each shoot day took about 2 weeks to prepare for, so add that up and you’ve got a year of production. Now we’re in the editing phase, and it seems we’ll be there until the end of our days, even though that’s not true.

With a project like this on our plates, it’s a miracle we got anything else done this year, and yet somehow, we did! We had awesome New York shows, headlined Kentucky Pride (where I crowdsurfed for the first time–awesome!!), appeared on Oxygen’s Jersey Couture and VH1’s Big Ang, released our music video for “Invincible,” organized the release (FINALLY) of our debut EP, Queens, which drops on October 23, and now we’re planning all the rest of the EP’s music videos, to be released throughout the first half of 2013. It just never ends.

Some of the highlights of this year include:

-having Kevin Allison of MTV’s The State and the RISK! podcast in our video

Image

-Janeane Garofalo coming over to my house to film her part of the video and then staying a half hour after filming was done to watch our other videos at my desk and talk to me about comedy and politics at length

-getting an email from Kerri Kenney with the part of the Hologram video she contributed

-the fans in Kentucky erupting after every little thing we did in our show there

-having our fans around the world tell us how much they loved the “Invincible” video

…and on and on. It’s been a great year. I just can’t wait for 2013, when we’ll finally be able to get back on the road in earnest after all this crazy work!

And to update you all more regularly!
