Icedick is FINALLY coming out on May 26th!

I’m so excited to announce my next release, Icedick, which is a duet between my longtime friend Josh Nova and me.

Josh and I are both singer/songwriter/producers, and the two of us wrote, produced and performed this song together way back in 2010, but we never actually brought the song out into the world in its finished form. We each worked independently on various other artistic and musical projects in the meantime, but in 2018, we performed Icedick live at The Bell House in Brooklyn at a RISK! and Bawdy Storytelling live show, and after the crowd’s huge reaction, we knew we had to get serious about finishing the project and getting Icedick to the people.

First, I had to get The Four on The Floor EP back out into the world, and then the pandemic struck, but in late 2021, I finally reopened the then 11-year old Logic session for Icedick, cleaned up the stems, and sent them to our recording and mixing engineer for the project, Chris Camilleri, so he could prep for our vocal recording session. We recorded the vocals for Icedick in January of 2022 at Chris’ studio and spend the next few months getting the song mixed and mastered to perfection.

We then recruited animator Salvé Black to create a hilarious animated music video for Icedick inspired by the Hanna-Barbera cartoons of the 90’s that Josh and I grew up on, as well as the Ambiguously Gay Duo videos from SNL.

Now that the full studio and live versions of Icedick, plus the music video, are ready to be released, the song and music video are finally coming out on May 26th, 2023 to YouTube and all music streaming services. Make sure you’re following me on all social media, music streaming services, and YouTube so you get alerted when the song and music video are out!

We’ll be having an in-person release party for the song and music video on Thursday, May 25th at 8:30pm at 66 Greenpoint, a bar at 66 Greenpoint Avenue in Brooklyn, NY, where we’ll perform Icedick, have an interview about how the song came to be, and screen the Icedick music video for the very first time ever. I hope I’ll see you there!

If you’re not in NYC, we’ll also have an online premiere for the Icedick music video on YouTube, followed by a talkback with Josh, Salvé and me on Zoom about the song and video. That’ll happen on Friday, May 26th at 12pm Eastern Standard Time, so subscribe to YouTube.com/JCCassis and go there then to see that!

I can’t believe the time for Icedick to be out in the world has FINALLY come, and I hope you all love it as much as Josh and I do!
